I Want to Make $100K
If you reading this I am speaking to you; however, if you are looking for a long drawn out answer, you will not find it here. It is quite a simple formula when you think about it. There are two main ways you can earn one hundred thousand dollars or more.
1. Hard Work: I would argue that there is only one way to get one hundred thousand dollars. Are you ready? The answer is hard work. I am sure you are shocked. Let me allow you to catch your breath before I continue. Experience is a byproduct of hard work. Nobody starts off with the experience. Experience is a byproduct of hard work. In fact, in his book Outliers, Malcolm Gladwell writes about the ten thousand hour rule. He walks through the lives of people like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs and how their 10,000 hours of practice (work) helped them make computer programming into billion dollar companies. Both Bill Gates and Steve Jobs placed tons of sweat equity into their futures.
Here are a few tips to help you when you are tired or ready to give up:
Write Out Your Goals: It is one thing to know your goal and it is another to see it every day. By placing your goals someplace where you will see it daily will help drive you to it. I would suggest either your bathroom mirror or refrigerator. We tend to use these a few times each day and it will allow you to be reminded of your goal. Do not stop there. Write below your goal or goals these words, ”What are you doing to reach your goals today?” Your brain does not like unanswered questions so now you just put your subconscious mind to work. You will be amazed at what you can accomplish by this simple suggestion.
Be Patient: We live in a world of instant gratification. True success is not instantaneous. It takes practice to learn the skills and apply the actions necessary to make 100K or more. Do not let yourself become discouraged. So many people on the brink of success give up just before they make it.
2. Experience: Experience is a byproduct of hard work; however, you can speed up by experience by doing the following:
Talk to People Who Have Done or Doing It: Seek out the people in your organization that have earned one $100,000 or more and ask them some questions. The people you ask may be salespeople, managers, president or CEO. Ask them questions like:
- What did you do to make 100K?
- What did you learn?
- What skills do you need?
- Who was your mentor?
Do not settle for “work harder” as the answer. Dive deep into the question because that is where the gold lies. Make sure everyone you ask that you write down their answers. You will soon see a correlation between the stories. Now that you have been given the “Secret Sauce”, parlay that into your personal success by putting the information into action.
Read: Another good way to learn how to make 100K or more is to read about it. Program your mind with all of the information that will help you get to that mark. Remember, your mind is a supercomputer and just like any computer it needs to be programmed in order to perform. Once it has been programmed, the computer just executes the software to properly function. Your brain acts the same way.
The Bottom Line: There isn’t a pill you can take or an app you can download that will give you both. If you want to make 100K it is going to take hard work and experience.
